My theme for this past Sunday's Daily. I thought it might be fun exploring something a bit darker. Henceforth I decided on illustrating a Knight contemplating a kill and seeking redemption amongst the forest(ok ok that's utter bullshit...but you get the gist n'est ce pas!)

Still a WIP as nice paintings don't get made in 2 hours time, however I'm still playing around with different painting styles, and enjoying the process very much so.

Only had the time for a quick little thumbnail today...Been mad busy all day fixing my blocking for a new shot over @ AM. Anyhow I thought it would be funny to see a lazy space marine/noble knight type of character ride piggy back style on a chatty robot companion(clearly replacing the traditional majestic horse). Chances are when I have time to dig into my character library I'll actually give this guy some justified exploration.

Here is the start of my daily sketching activities that a bunch of fellow artists and myself have committed ourselves to. This is a little color study portrait of a character i'll dub "Gumbo". Hes a southerner y'all, and is an fanatical activist for freeing Tibet, and residential pot dealer.

So I did have grand intentions of using this blog earlier on in September, however I realized I had a bit too much on my plate to get things running!

In any event I'm hoping to getting this blog rolling and roaring for 2010.

2009 is past and history and so is my first term over at AM. I have to say that I had a fantastic first term, and was blown away with the instruction, networking and of course the great people around it. My First Mentor Mark Oftedal was fantastic to study under. He has a ton of experience and a great history. I think his methodologies on posing and simplifying really took my poses to another level, and I'm surely grateful for it! I'm happy to say lots of a things are starting to click, however I still have a long and exciting journey ahead of me. Animation is never something you can master after all.

In the following posts will be some various Poses/thumbnails I completed during the course of 3 months...Class 1 animation reel might come later if you guys feel the need to see walk cycles and bouncing balls :)
